Club Match 9 - Magic Lakes (Small Lake)
The 2026 Club Championship continued with Round Nine last Sunday on 9th August on the small lake at Magic Fishery near Upshire. A very warm day with no wind was enjoyed by the seven members attending Winner was Doug Howell with a bag of all Carp, weighing 94lb 15oz, and. in Second place was Alan Tunney with 91lb 12oz and in third place, Steve Bence on 74b 9oz. A total weighed in of 394lb 15oz. Next Match is Round Ten on September 13th on Baggers Lake at the Five Lakes Fishery


RIVER CLOSURE - Fishers Green Consortium
Fishery Closure Notice Due to critically low water levels and reduced oxygen levels, the river is closed to all fishing with immediate effect until further notice. To help protect the welfare of the fish, this closure also includes all pike lure fishing on the lakes and the relief channel. Conditions will be monitored closely, and the situation will be reviewed on a daily basis. We will provide updates as soon as it is safe to reopen. We appreciate your understanding and coop


Club Match 7 - Five Lakes (Baggers)
For Match Seven of the 2026 Club Championship on Sunday, 12th July we visited Baggers Lake, at the Five lakes Fishery in Harlow. A good venue with parking behind pegs, so easy access. Winner on the day was Steve Bence with a bag weighing 118lb 15oz. In Second place was Barry Coleman with 105lb 11oz. and third place went to Alan Tunney with 96b 14oz - Specimen carp of 11lb 9oz to Steve Bence and all weighed in over 50lb giving a total of 455lb 10 oz. Club Match 6 - Stollies (LAA)
For Match Six of the 2026 Club Championship on Sunday, 28th June we visited Stollies Lake, the LAA Fishery near Ongar. Winner on the day was Steve Bence with a bag weighing 38lb 7oz. In Second place was Alan Tunney with 19lb 13oz. and third place went to Stuart Howell with 14lb 11oz. Most Fish Trophy went to Brian Harmer with a bag of 14lb 9oz Next Club Match Seven is on July 12th at Baggers Lake on the Five Lakes complex in Harlow.


Club Match 5 - Aaron's Fishery (Small Lake)
For Match Five of the 2026 Club Championship on Sunday, 31st May we returned to the Small Lake at Aarons Fishery that only has 12 pegs. Perfect with only 8 attending. A somewhat chilly day as the match started and the fish failed to respond. Winner on the day was Brian Harmer with a bag weighing 56lb 6oz. Second was Alan Tunney with 26lb 12oz. and third place went to Steve Bence with 22lb 14oz. Brian wins the Fred Clarke Memorial for the second year and a total of 162lb 13oz


Annual Officers Match - Five Lakes (Baggers)
On Sunday 24th May our Annual Officers Match was fished on Baggers Lake at the Five Lakes Fishery, Harlow. Attended by seven Officers plus guests on a very hot day with shade at a premium. The best weight went to Steve Bence with 91lb 2oz, an exceptional bag given the conditions. Alan Tunney finished in second place with 55lb 9oz followed by Stuart Howell, Third on 24lb 6oz Steve Bence wins the Officers Cup - 194lb 5oz weighed in by all.


Club Match 4 - Bures Lake (LAA)
The 2026 Club Championship continued with Round Four last Sunday on May 10th at Bures Lake, the natural LAA Fishery near Colchester. A warm Saturday followed by a very cold night left us shivering by the Lake on Sunday Morning. The seven members attending drew numbers for a drive off as parking can be achieved close to the swims. No Sun and a cold breeze on the water slowed down the response from the fish. Winner on the day with a bag of Tench, weighing 24b 7oz, was Steve Ben


Club Match 3 - Five Lakes (Baggers)
The 2026 Club Championship continued with Round Three last Sunday on 26th April on Baggers Lake at the Five Lakes Fishery near Harlow. A warmer day following a cold night was enjoyed by the ten members attending and a rather slow day ensued with bites at a premium. Winner on the day with a bag of Carp, weighing 39lb 10oz, was Barry Coleman for the second match in a row. In Second place was Doug Howell with 36lb 2oz and in third place, Steve Bence on 29lb. Total weighed in was


Club Match 2 - Magic Lakes (Small Lake)
The 2026 Club Championship continued with Round Two last Sunday on 12th April on the small lake at Magic Fishery near Upshire. A warmer day with light winds was enjoyed by the eight members attending and current form promised an enjoyable day and so it proved Winner on the day with a bag of predominantly Carp, weighing 73b 3oz, was Barry Coleman. Club Match 1 - Aaron's Fishery (Big Lake)
The 2026 Club Championship started last Sunday on 22ND March on the large lake at Aarons Fishery near Chelmsford. A pleasant day with little wind was enjoyed by the eleven members attending. A normally prolific venue was rather off form with fish unresponsive after a very cold night. Winner on the day with a bag of predominantly Carp, weighing 40b 3oz, was Alan Tunney.
