The 2026 Club Championship continued with Round Four last Sunday on May 10th at Bures Lake, the natural LAA Fishery near Colchester.

A warm Saturday followed by a very cold night left us shivering by the Lake on Sunday Morning. The seven members attending drew numbers for a drive off as parking can be achieved close to the swims. No Sun and a cold breeze on the water slowed down the response from the fish.

Winner on the day with a bag of Tench, weighing 24b 7oz, was Steve Bence. In Second place was Doug Howell with 17lb 4oz comprising Rudd, Roach and Perch. In third place, Stuart Howell on 14lb 5oz made up of Carp, Bream and Rudd.

Specimen Tench of 5lb 4oz to Steve and a Specimen Carp of 9lb 2oz to Stuart. Total weighed in was 71lb 1oz and Steve Bence and Thomas Arno win the James Egan Pairs.

Next Match is Round Five on May 31st on the Small Lake at Aarons near Chelmsford. LAA. Details will be posted
